Mom Labs is an AI-powered creative platform built for parents to use with their children. It lets you generate personalized illustrated storybooks, printable activities, and personalized games — all tailored to your child's age, interests, and reading level.

Think of it as a creative studio on your device. You describe what you want, and Mom Labs brings it to life — no design skills required.

Mom Labs is primarily designed for parents and caregivers — and also children. You create the account, enter your child's information on their behalf, and then enjoy the content together.

Children do not log in, create accounts, or interact directly with the creation side of the platform. All AI-generated content is created at the direction of the parent and intended to be shared as a family activity — reading a bedtime storybook together, solving a word search, or coloring a page side by side.

Yes. An account is required to save content, add child profiles, and access paid features. You can sign up with your email and a password, or use Google Sign-In for a quicker start.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

Lots — all personalized to your child. Everything falls into a few simple categories:

From your home page, pick a category — Storybooks, Activities, or Games — and tap Create. Describe what you'd like (a theme or subject), or let Mom Labs suggest one for you, choose which child it's for, and it's generated in seconds.

Everything you make is saved to your library, so you can revisit it, print it, rate it, or open it in Kids Mode any time.

They're the three main hubs:

• Storybooks — personalized and illustrated, to read together (on screen or as a physical book).
• Activities — printable learning sheets: coloring pages, find me scenes, worksheets (tracing, counting, patterns, math), and word searches.
• Games — interactive play: match games, jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, and flashcards.

Kids Mode is a simplified, full-screen view built for children to safely enjoy the content you've made — no menus, no purchasing, and no access to your account or settings.

You open a storybook, activity, or game in Kids Mode and hand your device to your child. To leave Kids Mode, a grown-up solves a quick parent unlock challenge, so kids can't wander back into your account (the browser's back button won't get them out either). Tip: hand off the device already in Kids Mode.

When you add a child profile — their name, age, reading level, and interests — Mom Labs weaves those details into what it generates. A storybook might star your child on a dinosaur adventure; a worksheet might practice writing their name; a coloring page might feature their favorite animal.

You can create profiles for multiple children and choose who each creation is for. Interests are screened to keep them age-appropriate.

Yes. You can link your account with another grown-up's — a grandparent, co-parent, or caregiver — so you can create for each other's children. Once you're linked, you can attach a storybook or activity you made to a child in their family, and it appears in their library too.

Sharing is selective: you choose exactly what to share, and everything else stays private to your account.

Yes. Coloring pages, worksheets, and word searches are designed to print at home — look for the Print button on any creation. Storybooks can be printed as a PDF or ordered as a professionally bound book (see the storybook printing questions below).

Paid plans include a monthly allowance of coins — the in-app currency you spend on AI creations. Instead of separate per-feature limits, you get one pool of coins and spend them however you like across storybooks, coloring pages, activities, games, and more. Higher plans simply include more coins each month (and Enterprise is unlimited). The free plan gives you a one-time batch of coins to try things with, rather than a monthly allowance. See the current allowances and what each plan unlocks on the Pricing page.

This keeps things fair: a creation costs coins in proportion to how much it costs us to generate with AI, so you're never paying for capacity you don't use.

Coins are the credits you spend to create things with AI in Mom Labs. Your plan includes a set number of coins each billing cycle, and every creation deducts some coins. You can see your coin balance any time on your Account page.

Costs are proportional to the AI work involved, so image-heavy creations cost more than text ones. Approximate costs:

• Storybooks — the most by far: every page is written and illustrated, so a whole book costs many times a single image
• Coloring pages (a full AI illustration) — several coins each
• Puzzles & picture flashcards — a few coins each
• Worksheets & word searches — just a coin or two

Because AI model prices change over time, exact coin costs can be adjusted — but we'll always keep them proportional to real cost. The exact cost is checked before you generate where possible, and your remaining balance updates as you go.

While your child is playing in Kids Mode they can ask you for a coloring page — for example, of a sentence they just built. Their ask lands on your Kid Requests shelf at the top of your home page, and nothing is generated and no coins are spent until you approve it. One tap makes the page; there's also a Reject button if it isn't something you want to make.

Requests expire 7 days after your child asks:

• Days 1–3 — the request sits on the shelf quietly.
• Days 4–6 — the card shows an “Expires in N days” badge, and the shelf heading tells you how many are running out.
• Day 7 — the request expires and leaves the shelf.

They expire because an ask goes stale: a page your child wanted two weeks ago usually isn't the one they want now, and a shelf that only grows becomes something to scroll past rather than act on. Nothing is lost that you'd want back — an expired request was never generated, so it never cost you anything, and your child can simply ask again.

The shelf starts collapsed and only appears when there's something waiting, so it stays out of your way on a quiet day.

Yes. Some things in Mom Labs are never generated by AI, so they never cost coins — your kids can play them as often as they like. You'll find them together in the Freebies section at the bottom of the Games and Activities hubs, where you switch each one on for the children you want to find it in Kids Mode.

• Flashcard decks — ready-made decks covering sight words, the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, feelings and more. Every play deals a fresh handful from a much bigger pool, so your child learns the words rather than the order.
• Ready-to-Go worksheets — different kinds of worksheet (tracing, counting, math, patterns, matching and more), dealt fresh from a shared pool each time at the level that suits your child's age.
• Tic Tac Toe — two players on one tablet, or one player against Bear Bot.
• Rock Paper Scissors — your child picks a challenger from the family and plays best of three.
• Match Game — memory pairs dealt from your own family's faces.

Coins are only ever spent when AI makes something new just for you — a storybook, a coloring page, a puzzle, an avatar. Playing a freebie, replaying anything you've already made, and printing are all free.

On a paid plan, new creations pause until your coins refill at the start of your next billing cycle. The free plan's coins are a one-time starter rather than a monthly allowance — they don't refill, and they expire 12 months after you sign up — so once they're spent or expired you'd add a top-up or subscribe. Either way nothing you've already made is lost — you keep all your storybooks, activities, and other creations. Need more right away? Upgrade to a plan with a larger monthly allowance or buy a top up to add more coins to your account.

There are two kinds. Your subscription coins are the allowance that comes with a paid plan: they refill at the start of every billing cycle and don't roll over, so there's no need to "save them up." (The free plan's coins are a one-time starter, not a monthly allowance — they don't refill, and like banked coins they expire 12 months after you sign up.)

Banked coins are any you've bought, been gifted, or been given by our team. They sit outside your monthly allowance — we only spend them once your subscription coins are gone, so the ones that renew get used first. Banked coins expire 12 months after you receive them. You'll always see the expiry date on your profile page, and we email you 30 days before any of them run out.

The free plan includes a one-time coin allowance you can spend across storybooks, activities, and games. Those coins expire 12 months after you sign up, and we'll email you 30 days before that happens. It's a great way to try Mom Labs before subscribing.

Yes! If you have a promo code, you can enter it on the Manage Subscription page. Promo codes can offer percentage or fixed-dollar discounts and may be one-time use or valid for multiple uses, depending on the promotion.

You can cancel at any time from the Manage Subscription page. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period — you won't be charged again after cancellation.

No partial refunds are provided for unused time in a billing period, except where required by law. If you have a billing concern, please reach out to support+billing@momlabsapp.com.

We'll always give you at least 30 days' notice of any price changes via email or an in-app notification. Continuing to use Mom Labs after a price change takes effect means you accept the new pricing.

What you tell us. You (the parent) enter all of this on your child's behalf — only their first name is required:

• First name
• Date of birth or age (optional — the date is used only inside Mom Labs; see below)
• Gender (optional)
• Reading level and preferred storybook length
• Interests — the things they like, which we weave into what gets made
• What they look like (optional): an avatar picked from our library, or details you describe — skin tone, hair color, length and style, eye color, glasses, freckles, a head covering, ethnicity, and any notes you add. If you ask us to draw a portrait of them, we keep that picture too.

What builds up as you use it. Alongside the profile, your account holds the things you make and what happens with them:

• The storybooks, coloring pages, activities and games created for them, and any work they save — a colored-in page, a traced worksheet
• Simple play records: which activities were opened, time spent, and game scores or streaks
• Which activities you've switched on for them in Kids Mode

One thing worth knowing: some interests are suggested by us from what you create rather than typed in by you. Those stay marked as suggestions until you confirm them, and you can remove any of them from your child's profile at any time.

All of it is used only to personalize what Mom Labs makes for your family. It is not sold to third-party partners, not shared with third parties for marketing, and your child's data is never used to train external AI models.

When we make something, we send our AI service what that piece of content needs: your child's first name, their age (not their birth date), their reading level, their interests, and — for anything with a picture in it — what they look like, so the child in the drawing resembles yours. For example, a storybook where your child is the hero, or a worksheet matched to their age.

We send it to generate that one item. It is not used to build an advertising profile, and our AI partners do not use it to train their models.

This data is not sold to third-party partners, shared with advertisers, or used to build profiles beyond what's needed to run your Mom Labs account. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

🔒 Your child's exact date of birth never leaves Mom Labs. We don't transmit it to OpenAI, Stripe, analytics tools, or any other third party.

We use the birthday only internally, for two things:

• Keeping their age current — so as your child grows, the storybooks, activities, and reading levels we suggest stay developmentally appropriate without you having to update anything.
• Milestone celebrations — birthdays, age-based "firsts," and other in-app moments we surface for your family.

When we generate content with our AI partners, we send only your child's computed age (e.g. "5 years old") or age range — never the underlying date. You can leave the date of birth blank and continue to use Mom Labs; just enter your child's age directly instead.

COPPA — the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act — is a U.S. federal law that requires websites and apps to obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children under 13.

Before you add a child to your profile, Mom Labs asks you to confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian and that you consent to us using your child's information to generate personalized content. This consent is recorded with a timestamp so you have a clear record of when it was given.

You can review your rights and withdraw consent at any time by contacting contact+privacy@momlabsapp.com or by deleting your account.

Yes. You can remove any child profile from your Account page at any time. This deletes the child's stored information from Mom Labs.

To remove all data — including your own account — you can use the Delete Account option at the bottom of your profile page. This permanently erases all stored information and generated content and cannot be undone.

Yes. Mom Labs uses industry-standard security practices:

• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — we never store your password in plain text
• All API communication is authenticated using signed JWT tokens
• Data is stored in a secured database accessible only to authenticated requests
• HTTPS is used for all data transmission

No security system is perfect, but we take the protection of your family's data seriously. If you ever suspect unauthorized access to your account, please contact us immediately at support+account@momlabsapp.com.

When you upload an image (such as a child avatar photo or a photo you want turned into a coloring page) or when Mom Labs generates images for your storybooks, that content is processed through third-party AI providers — currently OpenAI, Google (Gemini), and/or Replicate, depending on which feature you're using. Here's what that means in plain terms:

• Not used for training. Images and content sent via these APIs are not used to train any provider's models. Your family's photos will not be used to improve their AI systems.
• Temporarily stored for safety monitoring. Each provider retains inputs and outputs for a limited time for abuse and safety monitoring — separate from training; it's a safety review window after which the data is deleted. As a reference point, OpenAI's window is up to 30 days. Google and Replicate windows are governed by their own terms.
• Where your photo actually goes. For child avatar generation and most storybook illustration, your photo is described in text by an AI vision model and that text description (not the photo itself) is sent to the image generator. For our newer photo-to-coloring-page path that uses Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model, the actual photo is sent to Google's image model so it can preserve facial features directly. For the Replicate edge-detection fallback, the photo is sent to Replicate's image-processing service.

We do not have a Zero Data Retention (ZDR) agreement with any of these providers at this time, which would be the only way to prevent the safety-monitoring storage windows entirely. We will update this policy if that changes.

The bottom line: your images won't train external AI models, but they are temporarily held by the provider that processed them as part of their standard safety process. If this is a concern, we recommend not uploading identifiable photos of your children, and using one of our illustrated avatar options instead.

We use a small number of outside services on the grown-up side of Mom Labs. Here is every one of them and what it's for:

• Google Analytics — tells us which pages and features actually get used, and where visitors arrive from. We use it to decide what to build next and to spot pages that are broken or confusing. It never receives your name or anything about your children; it sees pages visited, tied to a random identifier for your browser, and we read it as overall trends rather than individual histories.
• Cookiebot — the cookie consent banner itself. It records the choice you make so we don't ask you on every visit.
• Stripe — processes payments and screens for fraudulent cards. It loads only where money is actually involved: your billing and account pages, and the storybook reader when you order a printed copy.
• Google — three small things: the fonts the site is set in, "Sign in with Google" if you choose it, and the city suggestions when you type your hometown during setup.

Just as important, here is what we don't do:

• No advertising networks and no ad pixels — there is no Meta, TikTok, or similar tracker anywhere in Mom Labs.
• We don't sell your data to third-party partners, and we don't build or share profiles used to target you with ads elsewhere on the internet.
• We never send your child's name, birthday, or photos to any analytics service. Those go only where they're needed to make your content — see the questions above.

🔒 No outside company sees anything your child does in Kids Mode. Google Analytics, Cookiebot, Stripe and every other third-party service listed above are switched off entirely on Kids Mode pages — not "anonymized," not "limited," simply not loaded at all.

This isn't a setting someone could flip by accident. The analytics code is written into our pages by a single tool that works from a fixed list of grown-up pages, and every Kids Mode page is deliberately excluded from that list. Adding one would take a deliberate change, and our own developer guidelines forbid it.

We do keep our own record of a few things, and we think you'd want us to: how long a child spent on an activity, which activity they opened, and whether they finished it. That's what powers the engagement summaries you see on your dashboard. It lives on Mom Labs' own servers, it's tied to your family's account, and it is never sent to an advertiser, an analytics company, or anyone else.

We went a step further than switching the trackers off. A Kids Mode page doesn't contact any outside company for any reason — not even for the lettering it's set in. Most websites, including the grown-up half of ours used to, pull their fonts from Google's servers; that's a perfectly ordinary request, but it's still your child's device reaching out to someone else's. We now serve those fonts from Mom Labs itself, so a Kids Mode page talks to nobody but us. An automated check runs against our code to keep it that way.

📸 We never keep it. Your photo is used to draw the coloring page and then it's gone — we don't store it, and there's nothing for us to go back and look at later.

Concretely, the photo is never saved to our file storage, never written to our database, never written into a log, and never left behind in a temporary file. It exists only in memory for the few seconds it takes to make your page, and disappears when the request finishes. The only thing we keep is the black-and-white coloring page itself — the drawing, not the photograph.

We do send the photo to the AI service that draws the page. We use a paid plan specifically because paid plans don't allow the provider to use your images to train their models. Your family's photos aren't teaching anyone's AI what children look like.

If you'd rather not upload a photo at all, every other way of making a coloring page — describing an idea, picking a theme, or building one around your child's profile — works without one.

Yes. The cookie banner that appears on your first visit lets you accept or decline analytics cookies, and you can reopen it and change your mind at any time — your choice is remembered on that browser.

Declining costs you nothing. Every feature of Mom Labs works exactly the same either way; analytics only ever informed our decisions, never yours.

Browser privacy settings, tracking protection and ad blockers also work normally on Mom Labs — we don't try to detect or work around them. If you'd like your data removed entirely, the Delete Account option on your Account page erases everything we hold, and you can always reach us at contact+privacy@momlabsapp.com.

Go to your Account page. In the My Family section, you'll find separate areas to add children, grown-ups, and saved characters. Before adding a child you'll be asked to confirm your COPPA parental consent — this only needs to be done once.

Once added, your children will appear as options when generating storybooks, activities, and coloring pages, so everything can be personalized to your family.

A storybook is a fully illustrated, multi-page book — like a real picture book. Every page is written and illustrated by AI around your child, and you can read it on screen, print it, or order it bound.

Storybook generation is available on Pro and Family plans. Once generated, you can read your storybook in the browser or download it to keep forever.

Yes! Any completed storybook can be printed as a real, hold-it-in-your-hands picture book and shipped to your door. Books are 8.5"×8.5" square, full color, professionally bound, and printed on demand.

Each printed book also includes a QR code on the back cover that opens the online version of your storybook — so anyone you give it to can hear your narration and see it animate on their phone.

Coloring Pages are AI-generated black-and-white line drawings on any theme or subject you choose — from dinosaurs to outer space to your child's favorite animal. Generate a page, then print it out for a screen-free activity.

Mom Labs uses AI services from OpenAI, Google, and Replicate to generate the text, illustrations, and printable activities you see in the app. We pick the best model for each task:

• Storybook text — OpenAI (GPT-4o) writes your personalized storybooks.
• Activity-sheet text — OpenAI (GPT-4o-mini) writes the prompts for worksheets, flashcards, puzzles, and word searches, and splits each storybook into illustratable scenes.
• Illustrations — OpenAI's image models create artwork for storybook pages, coloring pages, and child avatars.
• Photo-to-coloring-page — When you upload a photo to turn into a coloring page, we use either OpenAI (GPT-Image-1) or Google (Gemini 2.5 Flash Image) depending on which produces the best result for that photo, with a Replicate edge-detection fallback for cases where the AI cartoon path can't be used. Your photo is never stored on our side — see “What happens to a photo I turn into a coloring page?” above.
• Print-quality upscaling — Replicate (Real-ESRGAN) is used to upscale storybook illustrations to print resolution.
• Content safety — OpenAI's moderation API screens text you type and photos you upload to keep generated content age-appropriate.

We do not use your family's data to train or fine-tune external AI models, and our agreements with these providers prohibit them from training on your data either. See section 5a of our Privacy Policy for more detail on how each provider handles submitted content.

Every piece of content you create has a feedback row attached to it. There are five options:

• 👎 Didn't love it
• 🚩 Problematic — see below

You'll see the feedback row at the end of the storybook reader, on the coloring page print screen, on the worksheet viewer, and inline on the card for each item in the Activities hub. Tap a rating and it saves immediately — no submit button.

Your ratings help us improve future content for your family. They're private to your account and never shared with other users.

Yes — within 7 days of when the content was created. Tap change next to the saved rating and pick a new one. After the 7-day window closes, the rating becomes read-only.

The 7-day window applies the same way across storybooks, coloring pages, and worksheets so you don't have to remember different rules per content type.

Pick 🚩 Problematic when something about the generated content crossed a line for your family. After tapping it, we ask one follow-up question — what was the issue? — and offer these reasons:

• Scary or violent content
• Not age-appropriate
• Incorrect character appearance
• Offensive or insensitive
• Anatomical issues in illustrations
• Other (lets you write a short note)

For storybooks, flagging a finished book as 🚩 Problematic also files a concern with our review team automatically — it goes through the same grievance review described below (this replaced the old separate "Report a concern" button). For coloring pages and worksheets, the Problematic rating is logged as feedback. Either way, we do not share the underlying content or your note with anyone outside the Mom Labs team.

Storybooks occasionally get rejected by our safety filters — for example, if the illustrations come back with an issue we can't auto-correct. When that happens, the card on your Storybooks hub shows a Rejected banner.

If you think the rejection was wrong, open the card's menu and pick 🚩 Challenge rejection. That opens a short form where you can tell us why — up to 2000 characters. We call this a safety grievance.

You can also raise a concern about a finished storybook you made — one that generated fine but still has something wrong with it. Open the book in the reader and, on the last page, rate it 🚩 Problematic and choose a reason. That files a concern with our review team automatically. This is only available on your own storybooks (not samples or books shared with you), and it runs through the exact same review process below.

Here's what happens next:

1. Your concern is filed with our review team and we email an admin.
2. An admin reviews the storybook and the message you sent.
3. If we agree, your grievance is approved. You'll get an email confirming it, and we'll apply a one-time bonus to your account to make it right.
4. If we don't, your grievance is dismissed. You'll get an email explaining why.

You can only have one open grievance per storybook — once we approve or dismiss it, that storybook is closed. If a grievance is dismissed, you can still raise a concern on a different storybook later.

Right now the grievance review process is just for storybooks, because storybooks have the largest creation cost (multi-page text + illustrations) and a clear rejection state. For coloring pages and worksheets, use the 🚩 Problematic rating and tell us what the issue was — that feedback feeds our review pipeline, though it doesn't open a formal grievance the way a storybook does.

You can update your first and last name from the Account page. To change the email address associated with your account, please contact us at support+account@momlabsapp.com.

Scroll to the bottom of your Account page and click Delete My Account. You'll be shown a summary of everything that will be removed and asked to type DELETE to confirm.

Deleting your account permanently removes:

• Your account and personal information
• All children and family profiles
• All storybooks and coloring pages you've generated

This cannot be undone. Please make sure to download or save any content you want to keep before deleting your account.

If you signed up using Google Sign-In, your account is linked to your Google identity and does not have a separate Mom Labs password. You'll continue to sign in using the Google button. If you need to change how you log in, please contact support+account@momlabsapp.com.
